The m|devices 2-Way Foley Catheter is a sterile indwelling urinary catheter made from 100 percent silicone. It is intended to provide reliable urinary drainage via urethral or suprapubic catheterisation. The catheter is available in different lengths to suit paediatric, female and adult anatomies.

Key Features

  • 100 percent silicone construction - Soft and biocompatible material that helps reduce tissue irritation.
  • Secure balloon retention - Inflatable balloon ensures correct placement in the bladder. Symmetrical balloon design helps with smooth deflation when removing.
  • Multiple length options - Available in 33 cm paediatric, 23 cm female and 45 cm unisex lengths for both urethral and suprapubic use.
  • Sterile single-use pack - Individually EO sterilised and supplied for single patient use only. Do not reuse.
  • Clear length markings - Markings from 6 cm to 30 cm assist with accurate suprapubic catheter placement.

Intended Use

  • Urinary drainage for patients unable to void naturally
  • Management of acute urinary retention or post operative drainage
  • Monitoring of urine output and renal function
  • May be used for bladder irrigation or instillation where clinically indicated

Usage Instructions

  • Select the correct catheter size and length based on patient anatomy and clinical procedure.
  • Use aseptic technique at all times. Use water based lubricant only.
  • Insert the catheter until urine flows freely, then inflate the balloon with the recommended volume of sterile water.
  • Secure the catheter to prevent tension or accidental displacement. Keep the drainage bag below bladder level.
  • For suprapubic changes, note the previous insertion depth and insert the new catheter to the same depth.
  • Discard after single use. Do not resterilise or reuse.

Storage and Handling

  • Store away from direct sunlight and excessive heat or humidity.
  • Keep in original packaging until use.
  • Use immediately after opening. Discard if packaging is damaged.

Warnings and Contraindications

  • Do not use if the sterile packaging is damaged.
  • Do not reuse. Reuse increases risk of infection or catheter failure.
  • Do not use petroleum based lubricants. Use water based lubricants only.
  • Inflate the balloon only after correct catheter placement is confirmed.
  • Follow facility protocols for insertion, maintenance and replacement intervals.
  • Not suitable in cases of acute urethritis, prostatitis or urethral trauma. Use under clinical supervision only.
